She referred to herself as 'kind of a nightmare for the 'Democratic Party.'
She converted to the Mormon church; a church which didn't allow black participation until 3 years after her birth.
The location of her first date with her future husband? A firing range.
She's a strong supporter of limited government, except for reproductive and gay rights, which she believes the government should have some say over.
She lost her first bid for Utah's 4th Congressional District (2012).
She seems to think working hard and not accepting handouts is an exclusively conservative principle.

Why she might not be annoying:

She graduated Hartford University with a performing arts degree.
She was a flight attendant prior to entering politics.
She became the black female Republican to be elected to Congress (2014).
Her election also contributed to another historical first: 100 women serving in Congress at the same time.
If you love free market capitalism, gun rights and 'limited government', she's got your back.
Whether or not she wanted to be, she became a public face of showing the GOP isn't just a party of old white men.
