Pitcher for the Cleveland Indians (1986-91, 1996), Cincinnati Reds (1992), Houston Astros (1993-96), Minnesota Twins (1997-98), Boston Red Sox (1998) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (1999-2002)
Positional coach for the University of Texas baseball team (2005; 2007-08)
Post-game analyst for Arizona Diamondbacks games on FOX Sports Arizona (2010)

Why he might be annoying:

He played on six different teams, including two separate stints in Cleveland.
He was demoted to a relief role, following an elbow injury.
His effectiveness during the early stages of his career slowly began to drop off during his tenure with the Astros.
His production with the Astros dropped off considerably, that he was released by the team at mid-season during the last year of his contract.
He was one of five ex-Astros that was a member of the 2001 Diamondbacks World Series championship team.

He was a standout player in both high school and college.
He was considered one of the few bright spots on a dreadful Cleveland team during the 1980's.
He was a steady bullpen option during the Diamondbacks World Series championship season.
He was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame (2008).
He volunteers his time to charities that benefit autism related causes, in which his son is afflicted with.
