Internet Website

The Resume

    (2007- )
Internet-based microblogging platform and social networking website
Created by David Karp and Marco Arment

Why Tumblr might be annoying:

Along the lines of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, it is yet another social networking site.
Many businesses have criticized it for the ability of bloggers to violate copyright.
Some have described it as a haven for largely adult-only content.
In fact, internet searches for 'Tumblr porn' have risen sharply as popularity of the website increased.
It attempted to charge $150,000 for a single banner ad on its fashion week site.

Why Tumblr might not be annoying:

Like Instagram and Pinterest, it allows users to collect online images and links, then categorize/tag them.
By 2013, the site received 102 million blogs and 44.6 billion total posts.
CEO David Karp was named Best Young Tech Entrepreneur 2009 by BusinessWeek.
It helped turn the Occupy Movement's 'We are the 99 percent' slogan viral over the internet.
The website became the first blogging platform to host Barack Obama's blog.
