Why he might be annoying:

He has had a long rap sheet of crimes ever since his playing career ended.
In 1998, he was arrested for supposedly assaulting an escort worker. The ensuing trial ended with a hung jury.
He later worked as a Parks and Recreations director in North Carolina but resigned after allegations surfaced over how he assaulted an ex-girlfriend.
Another case where he was accused of misdemeanor sexual battery ended up with him getting two years probation in North Carolina.
He ended up being sentenced to 30 years in prison on, for burglary and criminal sexual conduct on a 21-year old woman who owed him money (November 10, 2010).
During his playing career, it was normal for Chris Berman to say 'Look at that little Megget go' when showing a clip of him.

Why he might not be annoying:

He accumulated 3,708 punt return yards over his career, which is good for second all-time in the NFL.
He was a favorite of head coach Bill Parcells, having played for three of his teams and serving as a punt return consultant for the Dallas Cowboys.
In winning the Walter Payton Award in 1988, he was the most outstanding offensive player of the NCAA's Division I Football Championship Subdivision.
In 1989 and 1990, he was named to the All-Madden team for his return work.
