Why they might be annoying:

They were the quintessential soft rock band that over saturated the 1970's.
Their song 'Cinderella,' dealing with the feelings of teenage pregnancy, was rebuffed by conservative AM radio stations and boycotted by woman's groups who disapproved its 'message.'
By 1980 they had gotten on each other's last nerve to the point the only original member left was Bartley.
Bartley won't let the band die and has assembled a new band to play oldies circuits.

Why they might not be annoying:

'You Are The Woman' and 'Just Remember I Love You' reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Singles charts (the latter peaking at #2).
Two of their albums have gone platinum (1 million units sold) and another gold (500,000 units).
They toured with '70s powerhouse bands like Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd the night before Skynyrd's plane crashed.
Flooding that occurred in the midwest U.S. in 1993 caused them to take action. They wrote a song 'When The River Rises,' which received air play in midwest states, and donated all profits to relief efforts for affected areas.
