Why he might be annoying:

He had a cantankerous relationship with his bandmates.
He was described as being tempermental and moody.
He tried to take over creative control of the band, and when he didn't get it, he quit.
He left the band on bad terms, skipping their 1998 reunion altogether.
His timing of his departure couldn't have been any worse, as he left months before the band released their biggest hit 'When She Cries.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was considered a natural piano player growing up.
He studied piano performance and theory at the University of Tulsa.
He met Larry Stewart while attending Belmont University, and recruited him to join his band, which later became Restless Heart.
He was serving as the music leader at his church at the time he was asked to come back and perform with Restless Heart again.
He made amends with his bandmates, which led to a harmonious reunion amongst all five members.
