The Resume

    (October 21, 1955- )
    Born in Cameron, Texas
Birth name is Helen Catherine Hardwicke
Directed 'Twilight,' 'Thirteen,' 'Lords of Dogtown,' 'The Nativity Story,' 'Plush,' 'Miss You Already,' and 'Miss Bala'

Why she might be annoying:

Very few of her projects have been commercial successes.
The one major exception to this rule was a little movie about teenage vampires based on an already existing property eagerly devoured by teeny boppers.
Despite the success of the first film, she was not brought on to direct future installments of the 'Twilight' franchise, amid reports of a 'rocky relationship' with Summit Entertainment (which she denied).

Why she might not be annoying:

Her directorial debut, 'Thirteen,' earned Holly Hunter an Oscar nomination.
She started out as a movie production designer, including for films 'Tombstone' and 'Vanilla Sky.'
Her films regularly promote female empowerment ('Plush,' 'Miss Bala,' 'Nativity Story').
She made the final call on casting Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, which proved a sound choice.
The financial success of the 'Twilight' film made her the most commercially successful female director to that point.
Before her film career, she was the commissioned architect for the famous 'Silver Ladies of Hollywood' Gazebo on the Walk of Fame (which highlighted multi-ethnic actresses like Anna May Wong and Dorothy Dandridge).
