Why he might be annoying:

Despite his success, honors, and critical acclaim he is rarely heard of outside of Las Vegas.
His private life is very obscure but he is somehow a grandfather at age 44 who has been single for years and is known as 'The ladies man' of magic.
He married and divorced fellow magician Melinda Saxe in less than a year.
His style is very stereotypical, tuxedos, top hats, classical music and all.
He was almost killed escaping after being chained to a rollercoaster. He said of the stunt 'That was stupid.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He may have the best magic show in Las Vegas.
He was honored as a world champion magician at just 22.
He was one of the first at the hospital when Roy (of Siegfried and Roy) was injured.
He is the current holder of the Mantle of magic, an honor so exclusive that even Harry Houdini wasn't considered for it.
He performs free shows for various charities and children's hospitals.
He continues to perform 10 shows a week at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas in a theater custom made for him.
He was honored as the most brilliant magician of the century.
Penn & Teller love making fun of him and despite that Lance considers them to be good friends.
