Why they might be annoying:

Boy George was constantly mistaken for a woman.
Their third album 'Waking Up With The House on Fire' failed to match the success of their first two albums.
Although Boy George denied he was gay at the beginning of the band's popularity, he admitted years later that he and drummer Jon Moss had a sexual relationship.
Boy George also admitted to drug and alcohol problems that caused problems in the band, which broke up in 1987.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their sound was a combination of pop, reggae, soul and blues.
Along with other British Bands like Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet, Culture Club also took credit for the New Romantic movement in the early 80's.
Culture Club was the first band since The Beatles to have three top ten hits from their debut album on the Billboard chart.
