Established in the U.S. Constitution (1787); first convened in 1789 (though, the First Continental Congress convened in 1774)
House Chamber located in the south wing of the U.S. Capitol Building, Washington D.C.
Consists of 435 members apportioned to each state based on population; number of seats per state determined by the Decennial Census
Presided over by the Speaker of the House; the Speaker is selected by the ruling party for each session
As of 2012, has 20 Standing Committees
Representatives elected to two year terms with no term limitations

Why United States House of Representatives might be annoying:

With re-election on the horizon every two years, Representatives are always in campaign mode.
House district boundaries are determined by state legislatures, leading to political fights and gerrymandering when House districts are re-mapped.
With many Representatives coming from heavily Democratic or heavily Republican districts, there can be a great deal of political polarization.
Residents of the District of Columbia are allowed to elect a delegate, but, that delegate is not allowed to vote on final versions of House bills and resolutions.
States can lose seats in the House based on the results of the United States Census, which is conducted every ten years.
If no presidential candidate receives 270 electoral college votes in a given election, it has the power to select the President of the United States.
It is responsible for introducing revenue bills - bills that always cause controversy because taxation is part of revenue.

Why United States House of Representatives might not be annoying:

Compared to Senators who win statewide elections, members of the House might better represent the values and opinions of the constituents in their individual districts.
States can gain seats in the House based on the results of the United States Census.
Though not allowed to vote, the District of Columbia delegate is allowed to speak on the House floor and serve on House committees.
The U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands are allowed non-voting House representation.
It's more common for women and minorities to be elected to the House than to the Senate.
With a minimum age of 25, dozens of 20-somethings have served terms in the House.
The House Chamber hosts the President's annual State of the Union Address.
