Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was drafted twice by the Florida Marlins, but refused to sign with them.
His longest stay with one team was four years.
He played on three different teams in the 2009 season.
He was unable to replicate the same degree of success he had following his double award winning 2012 season.
He frequently brought his son into the clubhouse with him.
His decision to retire was largely in part to being told by White Sox management, he had to limit his son's time spent in the clubhouse (2016).
His decision to retire over his son being barred from the clubhouse was seen as being childish by baseball pundits.
He drew the ire of the fans and the Braves organization, after he made a lackadaistic jog to first base after fielding a grounder, and was beaten to the bag on the play (May 2006).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of former major league pitcher Dave LaRoche, and was born in Anaheim during his father's stint with the Angels.
He was teammates with his brother, Andy during their tenure in Pittsburgh.
He overcame a diagnosis of ADHD to play in the major leagues.
He was honest in his assessment of what he wanted to be remembered for, citing he would prefer to be known for his humanity, rather then his baseball stats.
He is a partner in the Duck Commander brand.
He is the sixth player in major league history to record a home run in every game of a four game set (2012).
