    Born in Arcadia, California
    Second baseman for the Boston Red Sox (1982-90) and the San Diego Padres (1991)
    American League Championship Series MVP (1986)

Why he might be annoying:

    He shares his name with a catcher who played in the late 1800's.
    He suffered a career altering knee injury, when he tripped over the first base line during a game (1989).
    He was the final out of the 1986 World Series.
    He threw a plastic water container onto the field to protest Roger Clemens's ejection from a game, also getting ejected in the process, in what would be his final game with the Red Sox (October 1990).
    His tenure with the Padres lasted only twelve games, before he was forced to retire due to a knee injury.

Why he might not be annoying:

    During his time in the minor leagues, he participated in the longest game in baseball history (1981).
    He scored the winning run in the 33rd inning of that game.
    He often excelled in bunting situations.
    He led the American League in sacrifice hits for three consecutive seasons (1986-88).
    He was considered one of the smartest players on the field by baseball pundits.
