Why he might be annoying:

He publicly ripped the Mets organization, citing they gave up on him rather then give him a chance.
Despite putting up decent numbers in San Diego, his accomplishments as a closer were overshadowed by those of his predecessor, Trevor Hoffman.
He struggled during his only season with the Marlins, going as far as being demoted to the setup role in the bullpen.
    He is a born-again Christian.
Some baseball pundits felt he asked for far too much money then what the Padres were offering, which played a key role in him leaving the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

He proved to be a reliable replacement following Hoffman's departure in San Diego.
He won back to back Relief Man of the Year awards with the Padres.
He was a fan favorite in San Diego.
He recorded a career high 47 saves (2009).
He was considered a beloved figure in the Padres clubhouse during his stint with the team.
