    It consists mainly of older, public domain works (i.e. no Harry Potter books).
    If you aren’t in the US, you may be breaking your country’s copyright laws if you read this site’s e-texts.
    Initially there were few works in languages other than English.
    It solicits donations from users.

Why he might not be annoying:

    The first item to be added was the US Declaration of Independence.
    It does its best to ensure its e-texts are readable on any computer.
    Volunteers are free to add whatever interests them.
    It began on a computer network that evolved into the internet.
    It has several mirror sites to better ensure its collections are never lost.
