The Resume

    (July 15, 1981- )
    Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Former Airborne Ranger in the United States Army
Author of the novels 'Outlaw Platoon' (2017), 'Man of War' (2018), 'All Out War' (2019), and 'One True Patriot' (2020)
Republican candidate for United States House of Representatives in Pennsylvania District 17 (2020)
Ran for the Republican nomination for the US Senate seat for Pennsylvania left open by incumbent Pat Toomey deciding not to run for reelection (2022)

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with a former Governor of Alaska.
He lost to incumbent Conor Lamb in the general election by three percentage points (2020).
During his 2022 Senate run, he faced scrutiny over disturbing allegations from his estranged wife claiming he was physically and emotionally abusive.
During custody hearings, he was accused of injuring the couple's three children on two occasions, allegations that he denied.
A judge awarded primary physical custody and sole legal custody of the children to his wife (November 2021).
The blowback and negative publicity was so substantial that he suspended his Senate campaign shortly thereafter.
The undisputed lead candidate to that point and with a Trump endorsement, his withdrawal threw the GOP Primary race into total chaos, resulting in Dr. Oz jumping in and jamming up the race in the process (vote counting took days).

Why he might not be annoying:

He served for six years as part of the 10th Mountain Division.
In 2010, he and his platoon fought off hundreds of Taliban who attempted to capture a hill in Afghanistan held by his platoon, and he was wounded in the process.
He received a Bronze Star on two different occasions and the Purple Heart. He retired with the rank of Captain.
He supports numerous charities in support of military families and veterans.
He has openly discussed being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
He found his calling as a successful action novelist with the Eric Steele series.
