    He was training to become an Olympic swimmer, but an appendectomy ended his goal.
    He was extremely furry and needed extensive hair removal for his bare-chested performance in 'Hiawatha.'

    Bing Crosby discovered his acting talent and pegged him for his production company's filming of 'Ben Casey,' turning him into a superstar.
    His 'Ben Casey' character was parodied as a mad scientist on an episode of 'The Flintstones.'
    He directed seven episodes of 'Ben Casey,' then later directed episodes on TV shows such as 'The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries,' 'Battlestar Galactica,' 'Fantasy Island,' 'The Fall Guy' and 'In the Heat of the Night.'
    His lounge singing engagements were usually sell-outs, and his LP 'Vincent Edwards Sings' reached the Top 20 on Billboard's Album chart in 1962.
    He finished filming 'The Fear' even after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
