Celebrity's Relative

The Resume

    Credited as Jennifer Lee
    Married Richard Pryor
Acted in 'Acts of Vengeance (1974),' 'The Wild Party (1975),' 'The Believers (1987),' and 'Bold Native (2010)'

Why she might be annoying:

She has had a long running beef with Richard Pryor's family.
She married Richard Pryor in 1981 and divorced him the following year.
She wrote a tell-all about Pryor and talked trash about him on Geraldo (calling him 'the worst person I've ever met') - only to remarry him ten years later.
She has been accused of being messy with Pryor's legacy on several occasions.
Pryor's kids accused her of forging his name to several contracts, including his will and book/movie deals prior to his death.
Richard Pryor Jr. threatened to sue her if she continued to produce his father's biopic, claiming she used 'illegal and fraudulent means' to obtain the rights.
Rain angrily disputed her claim that he and Marlon Brando had a sexual encounter (Lee claimed she is in denial).
She waited over a decade to scatter Pryor's ashes in Hawaii. (He died in 2005 - she did it in 2019.)

Why she might not be annoying:

She was a student of Stella Adler.
She first met Richard Pryor as an interior designer whom he had hired to decorate his home.
She claims that Richard's grandmother and family were racially prejudiced towards her.
She claims that Richard physically abused her.
She left Richard the first time over his well-documented addiction to freebasing cocaine.
Pryor reportedly asked her to come back into his life as he began to struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and quitting drugs. She took care of him in the last years of his life.
She co-produced the documentary 'Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic,' which won the NAACP Image Award for Best Television Documentary in 2014.
She said of Richard: 'There's never been anybody I've met who has been as vulnerable, as willing to be open and loving, as Richard. He had a great capacity for the deepest empathy of anybody I've ever met.'
