Why he might be annoying:

He was a loner.
He applied to the Canadian Army but was rejected after officials stated he was unsuitable.
His shooting spree in École Polytechnique killed 14 and injured 13.
All the victims he killed were female. Only one was not an engineering student.
He accused his female victims of being feminists and blamed feminism for ruining his life.

He and his sister watched their father beat their mother.
His father, an Algerian native, influenced his hatred of women.
At 13, he changed his name to separated himself from his father.
His parents divorced when he was eight.
Female registration at École Polytechnique increased in the years after the shooting.
