Politician

The Resume

    (September 20, 1964- )
    Born in San Francisco, California
Member of the Alaska House of Representatives from the 12th district (1998 - 2003)
    Active in local Anchorage politics
Ran for Governor of Alaska as an independent candidate in the 2006 gubernatorial election
Placed third with 9.5 percent of the vote, losing to Governor Sarah Palin
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

He has been accused of being sensitive to criticism on social media.
He starred in his own Avis Rent-a-Car commercials after taking over from his father.
He engaged in a years-long feud with Sarah Palin after losing the governorship which spilled into coverage of the 2008 Presidential election (even though his Ross Perot style bid is arguably what split the vote to get her elected in the first place).
His criticisms of the administration stung enough to earn rebukes both in Palin's book and later in e-mail dumps which revealed Palin to have privately called him 'a liar,' a 'sinful liar,' a 'lying $+*#"' and a 'dumbass.'
He unsuccessfully ran for Mayor of Anchorage in 2015.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had his own morning radio talk show for several years.
He broke what was to be known as the 'Troopergate' scandal on his blog.
Although critical of her oil and gas policies, he told CBS she 'has an amazing ability to connect with people.'
He showed a good sense of humor reading excerpts from Going Rogue critical of him by a fireplace wearing a tuxedo.
The 24,000-plus pages of emails made public in 2011 showed Palin and her administration to be mildly obsessed with his criticisms.
