Best known for the role of Anandi in the 'Balika Vadhu' series (2010-2013)

Later appeared in 'Bigg Boss 7,' 'Power Couple,' and 'Bad Company'; Hosted 'Savdhaan India' in 2014
Also acted in 'Hum Hain Na,' 'Sasural Simar Ka,' and 'Gulmohar Grand'
Found hanging in her Mumbai apartment, reportedly dead from asphyxia (April 1, 2016)

Why she might be annoying:

    She was into astrology.
She had a reputation for chronic lateness and sometimes erratic behavior.
She competed in India's answer to Dancing With the Stars.
Karan Patel was rumored to have cheated on his then-girlfriend, Kamya Punjabi, with her.
She was accused of fabricating a police-rape story when plainclothes officers visited her apartment to ask questions of her fiance.
Her fans accused her boyfriend and fiancee, Rahul Raj, of a murder cover-up in her death (while her family filed 'incitement to suicide' charges against him).
Legal proceedings yielded a private phone call between herself and Raj, on the night of her death, in which she repeatedly threatened to take her own life (transcripts showed him begging for her to wait until he returned home).

Why she might not be annoying:

    She was a natural beauty.
She was called 'the starry eyed girl from Jharkland.'
She won the role of Anandi after a nationwide talent search and an SMS vote campaign.
She won a total of four Golden Petal awards, in different categories, for 'Balika Vadhu' (2011).
She won the BIG Star Entertainment award in the female television actor category, for 'Balika Vadhu' (2012).
She chose to quit her role as the popular Anandi character in 'Balika,' to focus on her mother's poor health.
Several of her friends in the Bollywood industry refused to believe she had taken her own life because they considered her 'too strong' and 'too happy.'
She transferred control over her life to a man who regularly beat, cheated on, and belittled her.
She sought support from family and friends, even showing them bruises on her legs and arms, but was largely ignored.
It is believed her suicide was brought on from depression related to an abortion she had undergone days earlier (which Raj pushed her into having).
Her last message on social media read: 'Marke bhi muh na tuzse modana' ('even after death won’t be turning my face away from you'), with a smiley emoji.
