He was of Samoan descent, but portrayed a Japanese man.
He weighed almost 400 pounds as a teenager.
The WWF gave him many opportunities to lose weight, but it failed every time.
After winning the World Heavyweight title for the 1st time, he held it for 2 minutes and 7 seconds, losing it to Hulk Hogan at the same event.
He died in his hotel room from a heart attack at thirty-four.
He weighed almost 800 pounds during the time of his death.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was cousins with Rikishi and The Rock.
After winning the World Heavyweight title for the 2nd time, he held it for 10 months, a record for a heel (a bad guy).
He is still considered as the heaviest pro wrestler in the world, but he was never officially weighed.
The WWF gave him a monster push during his arrival and he wasn't knocked off his feet in a match for months.
He helped bring a whole new division of Samoan wrestlers to the WWF.
