Why seaQuest DSV might be annoying:

The show recycled footage from 'The Hunt for Red October' and 'Airwolf.'
There was massive turnover between the first and second seasons since the network wanted a younger cast.
Scheider called the second season '21 Jump Street meets Star Trek' and said, 'I am very bitter about it. I feel betrayed.'
It was frequently preempted by sports and other specials, which contributed to declining ratings.
It was cancelled abruptly in the middle of its third season without a chance to air a finale.

Why seaQuest DSV might not be annoying:

During the end credits of the first season episodes, oceanographer Robert Ballard would discuss the scientific principles behind the show.
Lt. Brody was named after the police chief Scheider played in Jaws.
The show's theme song won an Emmy (1994).
After years of campaigning, fans convinced Universal to release the show on DVD (2005).
