Drafted seventh overall by the New York Rangers in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft
Forward for the New York Rangers (1987-90), Minnesota North Stars (1990-93), Dallas Stars (1993-94, 2002-03), San Jose Sharks (1993-97), Chicago Blackhawks (1997) and the Washington Capitals (1999-2002)

Why he might be annoying:

Some people might assume he is Norwegian as a result of his surname.
He bears a resemblance to Dominik Hasek.
He left the NHL for three years to play in Sweden before returning to play for Washington.
He frequently made hot dog moves.
He failed to play a full season during his NHL career.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a top 10 pick in the mid 1980's, which was a rarity for European players at that time.
He was a member of the North Stars team that made a Cinderella run to the Stanley Cup Finals (1991).
He flourished with the North Stars upon being traded to the club.
Despite being considered too small by hockey pundits, he defied the odds and posted solid career numbers.
