    He has the word 'anal' as part of his surname.

    Despite recording songs over four decades, he didn't get the mainstream exposure like his contemporaries.
    He changed record labels nine times during his career.

    He earned the CMA Musician of the Year Award for seven consecutive years (2008-15).
