Why they might be annoying:

The band took their name from the dog in 'The Wizard of Oz.'
Their lineup changed frequently, more often for the worse than for the better.
Jeff Porcaro was rumoured to have died from drug usage but an inquest revealed that he died from a serious allergic reaction to the pesticides that he was spraying on his lawn.
Bandmembers were forced to give singer Bobby Kimball the boot due to drug and alcohol abuse and general behavior.
Steven Lee Lukather, engaged to actress Shawn Batten, did a solo on Michael Jackson's 'Beat It.'
Steven Porcaro's relationship with Rosanna Arquette may have caused one of his marriages to crumble.
Dennis Hardy Frederiksen, whose family is from Denmark, started having trouble with his unique voice due to extensive touring.

Why they might not be annoying:

They have a snail mail international newsletter for fans without the internet.
Their songs 'Africa' and 'Rosanna' (after Rosanna Arquette) earned them several Grammy Awards.
They let Bobby Kimball rejoin the band after he cleaned up his act while living in Germany.
Joseph Williams, also booted due to his lifestyle, is the son of composer, John Williams.
They dedicated Toto XX album and the song 'I'll Be Over You' (Alfred's favorite) to Alfred Lagarde, a big fan that died of a stroke.
Steven Lee Lukather and David Frank Paich played with Boz Scaggs.
