Why they might be annoying:

They are a one-hit wonder.
Their first rehearsal as a band was postponed due to the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.
Lead singer Linda Perry was known for wearing outrageous hats in public.
Perry once was so high on drugs, that she fell down a flight of stairs and had to be in a body cast.
After just one album of major success, Perry broke the band up to pursue a solo career. She never achieved the same success as a soloist as she did with the band.
Perry went on to write and produce some songs for pop singer Pink.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their one hit, 'What`s Up,' is one of the most memorable songs from a one-hit wonder ever.
The lyrics of that song don't say 'What`s Up,' but rather, 'What`s Going On,' and they almost titled that song 'What`s Going On,' but out of respect for Marvin Gaye, they titled their song differently.
They covered 'Bless the Beasts and the Children' for a Carpenters tribute album.
Guitarist Roger Rocha's grandfather was an abstract expressionist artist.
