The Resume

    (January 15, 1933-September 9, 2013)
    Born in Fort Worth, Texas
Birth name was Patsy Lou Blake
Billed in several early appearances as 'Pat Blake' and 'Patricia Blake'
Acted in 'Jump Into Hell,' 'Crime Against Joe,' 'The Black Sleep,' 'City of Fear,' 'Cage of Evil,' and 'The Electric Horseman'
Made guest appearances on episodes of Perry Mason, The Bob Cummings Show, Rescue 8, Richard Diamond, Private Detective, The Virginian, and Bonanza
Best known for playing Rebecca Boone in the six-season run of 'Daniel Boone' (1964-1970)
Also known for her portrayal of hotel owner Lou Mallory, opposite Chuck Connors, in the final season of The Rifleman (1963)

Why she might be annoying:

She started modeling at the age of 13.
She briefly dated the womanizing playwright Clifford Odets.
Herbert Rudley dissed her acting abilities on the set of 'The Black Sleep.'
She shot a TV pilot with Neville Brand, 'Tramp Ship,' which went unsold.
She was involved the various pranks on the set of The Rifleman. This included helping Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford put three lemons on a strip of plastic and then placing it on producer Jules Levy's speedometer as a joke about their salary dispute (he allegedly almost went off the road).
She did publicity stills with Fess Parker which included him taking her across his knee to spank her (or at least appearing to).
Her character appeared less frequently in the final two seasons of 'Boone' with little or no explanation.
Veronica Cartwright, famously accused her of playing a role in her dismissal from the cast of Daniel Boone, claiming that Blair felt jealous and afraid of looking 'older' next to a younger actress.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was compared to a young Maureen O'Hara.
She was good friends with Bob Cummings and Albert Salmi.
She started out on the high school debating team. She was voted the girl with the most beautiful legs in Texas, as a teenage model.
At the start of her career, photographer Bert Six called her one of the most photogenic girls in Hollywood.
She was named a Hollywood 'Deb Star' along with Anita Ekberg, Mara Corday, and Cathy Crosby (Oct. 1955).
She lived with her husband on a 60-foot power boat they named 'Don Juan,' berthed at the Playa Del Rey Marina in California.
She had to travel several hundred miles each week, from Palm Springs, to play Daniel Boone's wife, but later said 'I would have stayed with that show until I was Granny Boone!'
She might have been the only reason to watch the fifth, and final, season of The Rifleman (pretty unbearable otherwise...)
Rifleman fanatics tend to reflexively choose Joan Taylor's bland Millie character as a better fit for Lucas McCain, over Blair's Lou Mallory, most of them claiming that Lou came off as though she had 'been around,' whatever that means.
Like her on-screen husband, she settled comfortably into retirement, producing trade/bake shows in New York and Jersey, for a living.
No offense to Veronica, but its a pretty tall order to believe that a woman with those physical attributes would feel threatened by a then-gangly 20-year old girl trying to pass herself off as a teenaged pioneer-child.
She called Fess Parker 'probably one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever met' and said of Chuck Connors 'there was no one sexier anywhere. He WAS The Rifleman. He was the part.'
