The Resume

    Is an anthropomorphic coyote
Mascot for the NHL's Arizona Coyotes
    Resides at Gila River Arena

Why Howler the Coyote might be annoying:

He looks more like a fox then a coyote.
He isn't the first NHL mascot named Howler.
He wears an M on the front of his jersey in the spot where the captain's emblem usually goes.
He rallies behind a team that has historically had little to no success.
His team was frequently a target for relocation rumors from a return to the franchise's original home of Winnipeg to a future move to Houston for most of his association with the team.

Why Howler the Coyote might not be annoying:

He wears #96 to commemorate the franchise's inception in Arizona.
He encourages the fans to do the White-Out.
He watched his team go on an improbable playoff run that saw them win their first playoff series since their 1996 move, along with reaching the West Finals for the first time (2012).
He stuck behind the team as they endured numerous off-ice issues and ownership drama.
He is extremely involved with the charities in the Phoenix area.
