He ran away from home 'about five or six times' and ended up in foster care.
He described his original job, as a petrochemical engineer, as 'soulless.'
He portrayed Conan the Barbarian for a Universal Studios theme park attraction.
He said the main lesson he learned from 'Twilight' was 'Don't bank on your career skyrocketing from a single project.'

He is of Comanche descent through his father.
He was raised believing he was Hispanic, with his parents not telling him about his Native American heritage until he was fourteen.
He was cast in his first role, in the music video for Diana Ross's 'Muscles,' after he was spotted working out in a gym by a talent scout (1982).
He said about his role in 'Yellowstone,' 'I couldn't be happier that there's a Native American that's portrayed in an educated and powerful way.'
