Hockey Coach

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was a virtual unknown in mainstream hockey circles, prior to his appointment as the Panthers head coach.
He failed to translate the success he had in the Ontario Hockey League with the Panthers.
His teams gradually regressed in wins and point totals during his three years in Florida.
Some hockey pundits feel his coaching style comes across as being conservative and boring to watch.
He comes across as being stoic and aloof in media interviews.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a successful head coach in the Ontario Hockey League prior to taking the Panthers coaching job.
Despite not making a playoff appearance, he guided the Panthers to a 93 point season in his first season as an NHL head coach.
He successfully proved his critics wrong by taking the Devils to a deep playoff run during his first season as the team's head coach (2012).
He is considered one of hockey's most organized coaches, as his teams are prepared, regardless of the situation.
He successfully made the transition from coaching major junior to the NHL, without having to go through the minor leagues.
