She disliked contemporary music, saying in the 1980's: 'I think the music of the last 15 years is horrendous; I can't stand the ridiculous, asinine lyrics coming out of human beings throats.'
She planned to change her name but her mother insisted that she didn't.
She did add a 'y' to her first name so people would not think her name was Eddie.
She liked to reach high notes to a point where it sounded like she is screaming.
She was a perfectionist.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her youngest son died of natural causes at only 23.
She was part of a rare show biz marriage that lasted over 50 years (married Steve Lawrence in 1957).
