    He is the first player in major league history to hit into a triple play, then record a grand slam at his next at-bat (August 6, 2001).
    He made a successful conversion from a catcher to a first baseman, upon signing with the Athletics.
    He was pursued to sign with the Athletics by Billy Beane, who felt his high on-base percentage was seen as an asset.
    He was portrayed by Chris Pratt in 'Moneyball.'
    He was quick to speak up about his relationship with Art Howe, citing it was the actually the opposite of how it was portrayed in the film.
    He spoke highly of Howe, calling him one of his biggest supporters upon signing in Oakland.
    He recorded the walk-off home run that helped preserve the A's winning streak, setting a new American League record at 20 games (September 4, 2002).
