    The original settlement was wiped out as a result of a fire (1790).
    It was known in later years as being the site where prominent news anchor Jessica Savitch was killed in a single vehicle accident.
    It is prone to flooding, as a result of its location along the banks of the Delaware River.
    Its economy relies heavily on tourism.
    It has hot humid summers and harsh cold winters.
    It was forced to cancel its annual fireworks show, due to a significant rise in crime (2014).

Why New Hope, Pennsylvania might not be annoying:

    It was initially known as Coryell's Ferry before adopting its current name upon the town's rebuilding.
    It is home to some picturesque scenery, due to its location along the Delaware River.
    The historic Bucks County Playhouse is located here.
    It is considered one of the artiest communities within Pennsylvania.
    Many Broadway Theatre shows tested and fine-tuned their productions here, before heading to larger cities.
