    He spent his entire NHL career playing for all three teams in the state of New York.
    He went against doctor's orders and played part of a season before a career ending concussion forced him to retire.
    Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret made the famous 'La-La-La-LaFontaine' call every time he touched the puck.
    He resigned his front office post from the Islanders the day GM Neil Smith was fired.
    He demanded a trade from both the Isles and Sabres.

    He recorded 234 points with Verdun of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (1983-84).

    He holds the Sabres record for most assists in a single season.
