Wrote the novel and screenplay ‘The Princess Bride (book 1972, film 1987)’
Wrote ‘Adventures in the Screen Trade (1983),’ ‘Which Lie Did I Tell? (2000)’ and ‘The Big Picture: Who Killed Hollywood? (2001)’

Why he might be annoying:

Some critics accuse his screenplays of being too mainstream.
He’s known for bad-mouthing people he works with in Hollywood.
As a result, nobody would hire him in the early eighties.
He attacked Steven Spielberg’s popular war film ‘Saving Private Ryan’ as a piece of propaganda.
Ronald Reagan claimed his Watergate film, ‘All the President’s Men,’ cost Gerald Ford re-election.
There are rumors that he actually wrote the script for ‘Good Will Hunting’ instead of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has won many screenwriting awards, including two Oscars.
Despite his big mouth, he is well respected in the film industry.
‘The Princess Bride’ has a large cult following.
He is associated with Stephen King, and has adapted several of his books for the screen.
He doesn’t worry about what people think of him.
