The Resume

    (1999-2011)
    Located in Atlanta, Georgia
    No Stanley Cup Championships
One retired number: Dan Snyder's #37
Relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (June 21, 2011)

Why they might be annoying:

Their inception as a team can be attributed to the expansion-crazy movement of the 1990's.
Their first head coach, Curt Fraser, made a name for himself with the Orlando Solar Bears, of a junior hockey league.
They lost their first game 4-1 against the New Jersey Devils.
They finished last in the league in their inaugural season, second to last in their second season and last in their third season.
Their best player, Dany Heatley, was in a car accident that killed teammate Dan Snyder.
They were the second NHL franchise to leave Atlanta for a Canadian city.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were well received in their inaugural year as fans of the original Atlanta hockey team, the Atlanta Flames (now the Calgary Flames), had wanted hockey in Atlanta since the Flames' departure.
They are named after the Georgia state bird, the Brown Thrasher.
They finished third in their division in the 2002-03 season.
Prior to his car accident, Dany Heatley, along with Ilya Kovalchuk, were considered one of the best one-two punches in all of the NHL.
