He started going by simply Leon around 2001 (including on his IMDB page).
He starred in a Hallmark movie.
Pepsi pulled Madonna's 'Make a Wish' commercial debuting 'Like a Prayer' when the actual video dropped a day later showing her dancing in front of burning crosses and making love to him inside a church (prompting a statement from the Vatican).
There were complaints that the video showed him as a Black Jesus (itself scandalous at the time) but he was actually meant to be St. Martin de Porres (patron Saint of the Mixed Races).
His own BET talk show lasted only five episodes.
