    He started a territorial war in the Canadian Hockey League when he accepted a deal from the OHL's Owen Sound Attack, despite the fact he was on the protected list for the WHL's Spokane Chiefs.
    To make it worse, he backed out on his agreement to attend the University of Michigan to take the Owen Sound deal.
    He was unceremoniously released by the Kings, despite being a mainstay in their lineup for over a decade.
    He played on three different teams in three consecutive years.
    He named one of his children Brix.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered a solid two-way forward by hockey pundits.
    He was a member of the Kings team that won two Stanley Cup titles in three seasons (2012, 2014).
    He was the first native of Utah to have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup.
    He made the Jets roster on a professional tryout contract during the 2020-21 season.
    His familiarity with Darryl Sutter's coaching system influenced his decision to sign with the Flames.
