Why he might be annoying:

Howard Stern said: 'He had this great image as a family man. Family man? This guy had nine children from three different wives. ... He was a families man. ... Did you see the homages paid to him when he died? All the news programs showed him walking down the road as an angel from his TV show 'Highway to Heaven.' When was this guy an angel? I'm sure at least two of his ex-wives thought he was going to hell.'
His first two marriages ended in divorce.
He is rumored to have cheated on his spouses and couldn't give up his playboy lifestyle during each marriage.
His tombstone has 'Devoted Husband' on it...something he was far from being.
    He had nine children.
He lost his college scholarship due to a torn ligament.
His stage name name was picked out of a phone book.
    His nickname was 'Oogie.'
Actress Melissa Gilbert named her son after him. (His stage name, not his birth name.)
He was proud of being thought of as a spoiled brat and relied on his looks to get him out of jams.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was neglected by his abusive parents during childhood.
His mother, actress Peggy O'Neil was violent and often attempted suicide, he thought it was normal for all mother's to stick their heads in their ovens.
He suffered from pancreatic cancer and it took his life just three months after diagnosis.
Two of his children were adopted.
He ranked #33 on TV Guide's 50 Sexiest TV Stars.
He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He was proud to be Jewish, but changed his name to disconnect from his abusive parents as well as sell-out to Hollywood.
He was the only actor as of yet, to have had three TV shows that ran together for five years or more.
He attended the University of Southern California on a javelin throwing scholarship.
Former United States President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Davis Reagan privately paid their respects at his burial.
Although his marriages failed, he was active in his own children's lives, unlike his own parents.
