    She persuaded her brother to support the CIA-backed coup that overthrew Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh -- reportedly after being bribed by an agent with a mink coat and an envelope of cash.
    She was married three times, divorced twice.
    She served as Iran’s delegate to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights even though her brother headed a regime that regularly tortured people, among other human rights violations.
    She was a high roller in the casinos of Monte Carlo.
    She reportedly got rich by securing government licenses for companies in return for 10% of their stock.

    She and her sister Shams were among the first prominent Iranian women to appear in public without veils.
    She was denied a university education and forced to marry a political ally of her father at age 18.
    Her last marriage lasted 55 years until her death.
    She was a supporter of women’s rights in Iran.
    In an assassination attempt at her summer residence on the French Riviera, 14 bullets were fired into her Rolls Royce (1976).
    Her son Shahriar was assassinated in Paris (1979) by an agent of the Islamic government that took power in Iran after he brother was overthrown.
