    Drafted fourth overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft
    Defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins (1988-91), Hartford Whalers (1991-94), Calgary Flames (1994-98), Montreal Canadiens (1998) and the Philadelphia Flyers (1999-2000)

Why he might be annoying:

    He has one of the oddest names in pro hockey.
    He did not retire from playing hockey until the age of 42.
    He played on 22 teams in 11 leagues during his career.
    He attempted to make a comeback in the European leagues at the age of 44.
    He was frequently a healthy scratch in the later stages of his NHL career, which prompted him to continue playing in Europe.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a skilled defenseman who elected to hone his skills with the Canadian National Team rather then play major junior or college hockey.
    He played for Canada at the 1988 Winter Olympics, held in his home province.
    He was the key player the Whalers received in the trade that sent Ron Francis and Ulf Samuelsson to Pittsburgh (1991).
    He recorded a career high 65 points, which earned him his only NHL All-Star Game appearance (1992-93).
    He got his unusual first name by being named after golfer Kermit Zarley.
