Why he might be annoying:

His middle name was the stuffy sounding Winthrop.
He was thrice married, including stints with actresses Francine Tacker and Lorna Patterson.
Most of his movies were B-films of the action/anti-hero variety.
He said of his roles, 'I've played a very violent repertory of movies and what they've done for me is given me an economically viable career.'
When film roles dried up he turned to directing low budget films, TV series episodes and commercials.
Working with an experimental theatre company in Toronto, he directed a rap/hip-hop musical version of 'A Clockwork Orange' (2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

As he teen, he was into music and got to jam in sessions with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Janis Joplin and John Lee Hooker.
He acted in five Broadway plays and nine off-Broadway plays.
He formed his own production company, Ginty Films, making movies overseas at minimal cost that, while never Oscar worthy, did make money.
Conscious of his Irish heritage, he founded and was artistic director of the Irish Theatre Arts Center in Los Angeles.
Two of the low budget films he directed won him awards as Best Director at the Houston International Film Festival.
He took up painting as a hobby and had some of his works exhibited in group shows in England, Ireland, Italy and France.
