Why she might be annoying:

She claims if it were not for people with Asperger Syndrome, we would all still be living in caves.
She enjoys dressing like a cowgirl.
She supports the dubious theory that vaccines may cause autism in children.
Some animal rights activists reject her view that killing animals is acceptable if it is done humanely.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was misdiagnosed with brain damage at age two.
She strongly advocates early treatment for autistic children.
Her highly visual thinking (typical of people with autism) may give her insight into how animals interpret their surroundings.
Her work greatly improved conditions for livestock at slaughter plants around the world.
Oliver Sacks wrote a chapter about her in 'An Anthropologist on Mars.'
She said, 'We humans owe the animals we eat a good life while they're here.'
