Why Oberlin, Ohio might be annoying:

    It was originally founded with the intention of being a religious community.
    It heavily relied on the weather conditions along Lake Erie in the community’s earlies years.
    It sustained serious flood damage on the same day a tornado occurred in the surrounding county (June 28, 1924).
    It has extremely hot summers and cold snowy winters.
    It is considered one of Ohio’s most liberal leaning communities.

Why Oberlin, Ohio might not be annoying:

    The Anti-Saloon League was founded here
    It is the site of where the first Hall–Héroult process in aluminum took place.
    It was home to the largest African-American settlement during the abolition era.
    It was considered an integral stop along the Underground Railroad.
    It is home to the Oberlin College, one of the first colleges in the United States to admit both African-Americans and women.
