Why she might be annoying:

She noted about her intensity, 'On one of my teams, they called me 'Type Triple-A,' not just Type A.'
She twice announced her retirement (2007, 2012), only to return to cycling three years later each time.
She is often mistakenly thought to be the ex-wife of Lance Armstrong. (Lance's first wife was indeed named Kristin, but they are different people.)

Why she might not be annoying:

She was Director of Aquatics at the Boise Family YMCA, supervising more than fifty lifeguards and swimming instructors.
She was a triathlete until she was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips (2001), was told she would no longer be able to run at an elite level, and decided to focus exclusively on cycling.
She was the first cyclist to win three Olympic gold medals in the same event.
She was the oldest female cyclist to win an Olympic medal.
