Why he might be annoying:

    He was rather chunky for a pitcher.
    He played on five different teams, including two separate stints with the Pirates.
    His second tenure with the Pirates was remembered for him being called to testify in the infamous Pittsburgh drug trials.
    He earned a 60 game suspension during the 1986 season, after he admitted to using cocaine.
    His career ended after he blew out his pitching arm to the point where it was unable to be fully straightened.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation from North Carolina A&T University.
    He was the first North Carolina A&T alumni U.S. to reach the major leagues.
    He excelled in the short relief situations, and was considered one of the best during his early years by baseball pundits.
    He was eloquent and well spoken in interviews, which was unheard of amongst major league players at the time.
    He avoided his suspension when he agreed to donate 5% of his salary to drug prevention programs, along with completing community service.
