After contributing to a revolution in Dresden, a warrant for his arrest was issued, so he flees to Zurich (1849).
He was granted a partial amnesty and returned to Germany (1860).
King Ludwig II of Bavaria saved him from bankruptcy (1864).
Since King Ludwig decided to financially support Wagner, he became a spend thrift and raised the ire of the public.
He was hated for cohabitating with a married woman, while his wife was dying.
He was a vegetarian.

His operas are incredible.
When Wagner died, his wife loved him so much that she clung to his body for twenty four hours.
