Why they might be annoying:

Having joined in 1962, Burdon was not an original member; it was originally called the Alan Price Combo.
Nevertheless, Burdon was the last remaining member of the definitive lineup, in 1966, upon which his name was stamped upon the band.
Since ‘I’m Crying’ handily failed to match the success of ‘House of the Rising Sun,’ their original works were relegated to the B-side until they changed producers.
Even by 1960s standards, they were so financially inept they eventually claimed manager Michael Jeffery was a thief.
Steel and Burdon butted heads over ownership of the band name (2008); Burdon’s argument was initially rejected.
It went through no fewer than 30 members in its lifetime; as of 2015, only two others besides Chandler were confirmed dead.

Why they might not be annoying:

Having watched him perform at Greenwich Village as an unknown, Chandler went on to manage the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
‘The Best of the Animals,’ released in 1966, made it into the Top 10 and remained in the charts for some two years.
Under their best-known moniker, they relocated to California and adopted their signature psychedelic sound.
Bruce Springsteen and Tony Banks regard them as an influence.
Though he was not with the band for its entire run – there were two other drummers in the meantime – Steel is the last remaining original member.
If not for their contentious and turbulent relationship – even into their reunion – they might never have lasted as long as they did.
