Born in Walomo, Papua New Guinea
    Two seasons
    Putang (Dry)
    Puwi (Windy)

Why New Guinea Calendar might be annoying:

The New Years is when the Southern Cross is first observed.
A month is counted when a new moon is seen.
The months are named after fish.

Why New Guinea Calendar might not be annoying:

The citizens are uninterested in age, history, astronomical or religious events, anniversaries or time.
They are only concerned with catching fish.
The dry season (Putang) is time for fishing - low tides and calm weather.
The number of months counted allows the people to know how many months pass to keep track of when fishing is still good or not.
During Puwi, they hunt wild pigs.
