Ira Louvin (April 21, 1924-June 20, 1965), born Ira Loudermilk in Section, Alabama
Recorded the songs ‘The Family Who Prays' (1952), ‘When I Stop Dreaming' (1955), ‘In the Pines' (1956), ‘I Don't Believe You've Met My Baby' (1956), ‘Cash on the Barrelhead' (1956), ‘I Wish It Had Been a Dream' (1958), ‘The Kneeling Drunkard's Plea' (1958), ‘Southern Moon' (1960), ‘The Great Atomic Power' (1961) and ‘Wreck on the Highway' (1962)
Charlie recorded the solo hits ‘I Don't Love You Anymore' (1964) and ‘See the Big Man Cry' (1965)
Ira was killed in a crash with a drunk driver

Why he might be annoying:

Originally gospel artists, they added secular songs when a sponsor of the Grand Ol' Opry complained, ‘You can't sell tobacco with gospel music.'
Backstage at a concert, Ira called Elvis Presley a ‘white nigger' and tried to physically attack him.
Ira's third wife shot him three times in the back after he tried to strangle her with a phone cord.
At the time of Ira's death, there was a warrant out for his arrest on DUI charges.

Why he might not be annoying:

They were Elvis's favorite gospel duo.
Charlie said, ‘Ira could write about anything if you gave him an idea.'
A decade before the Who, Ira regularly smashed his mandolin on stage.
In his mid-70's, Charlie toured as the opening act for Cheap Trick and Cake (2003).
